by Isaac Asimov (1993). Acceptable, fourth volume. I then re-read the first volume of the original trilogy Foundation. Although I loved it when I first came upon it as a teenager, I found the characters stilted and one-dimensional. I still love the series for the vast canvas in space and time that it paints upon. Curiously, in Asimov’s Galactic Empire, no significant advances in biotechnology have been made from today. No Internet either. Asimov’s creativity is focused onto progress in physics and in the material sciences.
